URGENT: Sneak attack on NOVA Armory - HEARING TOMORROW NIGHT!


Looks like Arlington County is trying to play hardball with NOVA Armory, and are using stealth to do so!

The Arlington Department of Community Planning, Housing, and Development is planning to review NOVA Armory’s Certificate of Occupancy and could potentially revoke or modify it!

Why do I say this is being done by stealth? Because NEITHER NOVA Armory, NOR the landlord, were notified of this hearing!!! The only reason they even found out about it THIS MORNING was because a concerned neighbor brought it to their attention. Somehow the Planning Department managed to get a notice out to the all the neighboring stores in the area, but not to anyone who would be directly affected.

It couldn't be anything to do with NOVA Armory announcing its lawsuit against some Delegates, Senators, and others who conspired to destroy the business back on April 25th? The notices for the hearing are dated, wait for it, wait for it, April 28th! How’s that for a coincidence?

This is unbelievable, unprofessional, and hopefully illegal, as the Planning Department didn’t bother notifying the target of the review.

The following complainants are behind this attack on NOVA Armory according to the notification: Julia Young, Emily Hughes, Bernadette Brennan, Grace Chan, and Nathan Guerrero.


ACTION ITEM:

Let’s flood the Arlington Department of Community Planning, Housing, and Development hearing with lots of gun owners wearing GSL stickers and making polite, but firm, comments at the hearing on the underhanded, unprofessional, and politically motivated way this hearing is being handled.

The hearing is at 7 PM on Wednesday, May 11 at:

Arlington Department of Community Planning, Housing, and Development
2100 Clarendon Blvd
3rd Floor, Board of Supervisors Room
Arlington, VA 22201

Someone should be there handing out GSL stickers. Carry is lawful in local government buildings.

Wednesday night the Arlington Zoning Board voted UNANIMOUSLY to keep NOVA Armory’s Occupancy Permit in place!

We had a HUGE turnout - truly flooding the room to standing room only proportions earlier in the evening.

There was only ONE anti who spoke, almost the entire rest of the room was wearing VCDL stickers. She gave several lame excuses why NOVA Armory should have their permit revoked AND she didn’t want NOVA Armory to be able to reapply EVER! (I love it when the antis overreach. Makes my job so much easier. They simply can’t help themselves, bless their pointed little heads.)

That even shocked the Zoning Board.

The Board members asked some very key questions and that gave me my first hint that they viewed this as a frivolous case.

I was particularly pleased that we had so many women speakers! I love to see women at these things as it destroys the stereotype of gun owners being only men.

I am proud of our members and all of the great comments that were made. YOU GUYS AND GALS are what makes VCDL a force to be reckoned with! I thank you for showing up at these events, for representing gun owners so well, and for your sheer determination that gun rights WILL only be moving forward in the Commonwealth!
