I bought a 650 and am working on picking up components and tools for it. Looks like I'm gonna see spotshuntclub shortly!!!

A long time ago I had a friend and we reloaded using a Lee single stage press. I stepped on to the autobon comparatively with this press.

Anybody else have a 650?

I've got a 550 that I primarily use for bulk 9mm/.223/.308... probably 20k rounds in the past 5 years. I can swing 300rds of 9mm in an hour if the music is good... rifle stuff maybe 200rds in an hour because I do a lot more hand-inspecting and QA more often.

When I use it as a single-stage for working up loads or making hunting ammo, I hand-weigh on my Dillon Eliminator scale and pour via a funnel. I'll resize and prime 100rds, then pour and seat 100rds... take my time and inspect every piece at every stage.

Some powders meter better than others through press and I trust it to give me +/- .2grains... in reality, it's almost always dead-on, but I know that some powders require me to throw the arm a little more smoothly to get a clean pour. .2grains isn't enough to make any real difference for my bulk plinking rounds out to 200yds, so I'm fine with that.

The Dillon Eliminator is freaking magic. It actually weighs more consistently than my buddies RCBS Chargemaster that he loads for some serious precision shooting. I can see it move when tweezering individual sticks of powder... crazy accurate.

I love my 550, but the 650 and it's increased automation is where it's at... maybe someday!
