The committee will meet on June 26 and the meeting will be televised. There will be no public comment at that meeting. If the committee decides there is merit to such an ordinance, then the Board of Supervisors will call for a public hearing, with public input, probably in July. Thanks to Chairman Sharon Bulova for having her Chief of Staff, Clayton Medford, keep me in the loop on how this item is likely to proceed. Clayton said Ms. Bulova has gotten quite a bit of input from both sides. Let's make sure she gets more input from OUR side! If you haven't done so already, you can let the Board of Supervisors know your position on such an ordinance: — If you live in Fairfax County, visit there, or do business there, contact your Board of Supervisors member (or the chairman) and let him or her know that you oppose requiring long guns to be unloaded in vehicles on public roads.
