Over the course of the next few months, I intend to save up buy an AR rifle or something comparable, but I'm not sure what kind I should get and what kind of bling I want for it. A little background: I did my time in the military. I'm quite proficient with the carbines.

I have $1,000 to $1,500 that I plan to set aside for this purchase, but I'm not sure what will give me the most bang for my buck and still offer reliability. All I've ever used are traditional iron sites, but I'd like to have a decent scope. Weapons I'm considering are the AR15, M4, and SBR 300. So......can you guys provide me with some advice and links?
