Can anyone clarify if I can have my xdm9mm holstered in plain view except for in school, fed propert ect. Im waiting on the conceal carry but understand its my right to open carry is holstered considered open carry here.

You absolutely have the right to open carry in the state of Va without a permit. Just carry smartly.
