Public Deer Hunting land near NOVA

This is my first Deer season in VA (former NC resident) and I don't have access to any private land. I've been looking online at WMAs, and the only one that doesn't require any special permitting for rifle hunting is Thompson.
Has anyone hunted there? Is it alright? I'd bet it stays pretty busy...

Call the VA Game and Wildlife Commission they should point you in the right direction, and in VA a lot of public parks you can Bow Hunt in just need hunter safety and Hunting License

Pick up a copy of the game regs at wal mart. Has all the public lands listed.
